thank simon not god...started to say thank god....trying to avoid that like saying "in the truth"...."worldy"....those two are hard to break........but still.....giving up on what was a good marriage is a bitch....and i am not done yet....some of my now close jwd friends had mates that came out pretty fast.......some not.......i am of the not variety.

Perhaps you should mention to your wife that your not necessarily against Jehovah but your actually
against the Watchtower Society that says they represent him.

first of all, i'm a newbie to this site, so i hope that there will be some response to my thread on this particular topic (which i have plenty to relate about).. i wonder why some single (and a few married) brothers in the org have shown a great deal of disrespect for single sisters?
i am bringing this issue up because not only myself but also my sisters [i have four (4) other in my immediate family] along with 3 of my cousins (who have been dedicated and baptized since adolescent age) plus my own close girlfriends have experienced being gossiped/slandered by a host of brothers who think that they are "all that" and jah's gift to women on planet earth!
as a matter fact, when one brother in particular [whose uncle is an elder, brother was a regular pioneer/temporary worker at bethel and cousin was a ministerial servant] at a nicely-populated gathering saw myself, two (2) of four sisters, one of cousins and a few of my close friends being approached as well as introduced to a number of handsome, well-dressed brothers to us via two (2) of the family members whom hosted the event.
The JWS men just see females as under class sex objects thats why, the men are the whole part of the grain as they have been created in god's own image,
this again goes into the power obtaining identity that religion offers men, if you don't have power outside the kingdom hall, you certainly have it
on the inside. All throughout the bible women are degraded to lower class individuals , they weren't even allowed to speak within the temples,
Jehovah even approved of raping them on occasion......and who reads the bible for social guidance, you know the answer to that.
they buzzed my flat,saying they were interested in talking to people who were concerned about the ecomonic/financial situation or environmental situation.. they showed/gave me what does the bible really teach.. they aske me when did i last see a jw,i said about a year ago,to which he said he was surprised.

Its true they had teachers and meetings with people asking questions, but one thing for sure they didn't sell
magazines and literature after the talks were over with, no wait a second I recall reading about the Watchtower
being chiseled out on stone tablets once a month and being sold for a Roman denarius ........sorry my mistake

i would encourage anyone who thinks they may have a problem to get help, it is out there.. since i have become sober i am now doing a law degree, took up scuba diving, got my kids involved in snorkelling, scuba, horse riding and shooting.
In this day and age no one needs that junk...... congratulation on your achievement

Most are because education is played down as being unimportant, how many JWS can you think of that have obtained an degree in English Composition,
or a University degree of any kind ? As long as you can read the WT and their other literature you have enough education,
and there is not a wide based vocabulary used in their articles thats for certain.
